We took Leah on her first road trip and our first family "vacation" this past weekend. We had such a great time! Ryan and I just kept telling each other how much fun we were having and what an amazing blessing Leah is in our lives.
A vacation with a baby is definitely different! We looked like we were bringing our whole house with us. Ryan and I had one bag that we shared and Leah had three bags, a pack and play, and a stroller. The drive to San Antonio went better than expected! Leah did so well. We stopped a few times to let her stretch her legs (and us too)! We eventually made it to the hotel. We unpacked and relaxed before heading out to the river walk.
Saturday evening we walked around the river walk. It was so crowded! I was really nervous pushing Leah's stroller down the sidewalk next to the river. I don't know why they don't have rails lining the river! We ate dinner and got ice cream, then went back to the hotel. Leah slept much better than I thought she would. Sunday morning we got up and got ready for the zoo. Before we left, we walked outside to take a few pictures by the river before it got too crowded.
The zoo was a lot of fun, but really hot and crowded. Leah did really well. She enjoyed all the sights and sounds.
After the zoo we went back to the hotel to cool off and rest. Then we walked around some more. We visited the Alamo, mall, and river walk again.
This mini vacation is just what we needed! We got to rest, relax, and enjoy time together without all of the daily distractions. I am so thankful we had this opportunity. Leah is a joy and we love getting to make these memories with her.
