San Antonio

We just got home from our annual trip to San Antonio! We had a great time, but definitely learned that traveling with two children, is much different than traveling with one! There were moments where Ryan and I would look at each other and just shake our heads and put up our hands because we didn't know what to do with two screaming kids in the middle of the Riverwalk in 100 degree weather. But, that is our life right now and we wouldn't change a thing! We love being together and getting to experience these life events as a family.

We left Monday morning and, with a few pit stops along the way, we made it to San Antonio by 3:00. After playing in the room for a little bit, we headed out to the Riverwalk. About 10 minutes into the walk, we were regretting that decision! It was HOT and we didn't take the stroller because of all of the steps, so we took turns wearing Ty in the carrier. We made it to the Rivercenter Mall and decided to go see Cars2 while we waited to let it cool down before we went back out. It was a great idea that didn't quite pan out! We made it through the previews and about 15 minutes of the movie before Leah said she wanted to leave. Thankfully we only paid matinee prices, so we didn't loose too much on the deal! We went ahead and walked to dinner, ate very quickly and headed back to the hotel. I didn't think we were going to make it! But we did and we had a good laugh about it later!

Tuesday we got up early and headed to Sea World! We came more prepared this year than we did last year. We all wore our swim suits under our clothes, brought clip on fans for both of the kids, and bought the all day dining pass so that we could get water bottles and snacks as often as we needed. We had a really great time! All the heat, crying, and exhaustion were worth it when we would see Leah's face light up during the shows and when she would see certain animals. That was the best part! She had so much fun watching the dolphins and Shamu. She got to choose a prize at the end of the day and she decided on a stuffed dolphin. Ty had a great time too! He took lots of naps under his fan, ate a few bottles, and watched the occasional show. We look forward to many more trips to Sea World with our sweet kids!

On Wednesday morning, we headed over to the Alamo for our annual family picture. We have taken this picture every year and I love looking back at them and seeing how much our family has changed. God has blessed us immeasurably and we are so thankful.

Leah's Incredible Swim Lessons

Ryan and I knew that we wanted Leah in swim lessons this summer, we just weren't sure where we wanted to take her. After asking a few family members and friends, we decided on S&A Swimming in Irving. That was the best decision we could have ever made! The progress Leah made in just two weeks is amazing! We were not allowed back at the pool for the first 9 lessons, but we did get to go back and watch on the last day. I think Ryan and I had our mouths open the whole time. Watching our little girl jump and swim all by herself was incredible and very unexpected. We are so thankful for her teachers and we look forward to sending her back there next summer!

Leah earned her Bubbler badge! She will be in the Dipper class next summer.

Big Sisters Are The Best!

It is so fun to watch the relationship between Leah and Ty grow stronger every day. Leah adores her little brother! She comforts him when he cries, kisses him when she walks by, helps hold his bottle, checks on him when he is getting a diaper change, and helps dry him off after his bath. She always has to give Ty a kiss goodnight and is always keeping tabs on where he is and what he is doing. It warms our hearts to see the love she has for him. Ty lights up when Leah talks to him and he is even starting to laugh at her silly voices. Thankfully, I was able to capture a glimpse of their sweet love today!

My, How Things Have Changed!

I was looking through our 4th of July pictures from the last three years, and couldn't believe how much our lives have changed in such a short time. Our sweet girl is growing up fast, and now we have a precious boy to join in the mix! It is so fun to watch our babies grow and think about all the fun times we have had and all the great times that await us!

Fourth of July

We had a wonderful, low-key 4th of July! The Mitchell family came over again this year and we grilled hot dogs and had dinner and visited while the girls played. Then we headed out to the city fireworks. It was hot, but we had a great spot and loved the fireworks. Our city does a great job with the fireworks show! Ty loved them and Leah liked them but kept asking to go home. We love spending this holiday with sweet friends and our precious family!

I wanted to try and get one good picture of Leah and Ty in their new shirts. I didn't get the "perfect" shot, but I did get some cute ones of my precious babies!

4 Months

Ty Allen turned four months old today! Every month seems to go by faster than the one before. Ryan and I are trying to cherish every moment with our little man. He is just a big ball of love! We cannot picture our family without him!

At four months, Ty is:
-wearing 9 month clothes!
-eating 6-7 ounces every 3 hours
-still sleeping through the night when he is swaddled
-riding in the stroller without his carrier
-so sweaty! We call him "sweaty eddy" or "clammy sammy" all the time, because he seems to always get hot
-smiling and cooing all the time
-picking his head up much better during tummy time
-spoiled and loves to be held

We love you Ty Allen and we look forward to all the fun that this month has in store!

Big sister wanted her picture taken in the chair with the sign too! (And yes, our daughter loves to be naked. She is constantly taking off her clothes and doesn't want us to put them back on!)
