Family Fun on the Ranch

We just got back from our annual summer trip to the Franklin Ranch near Amarillo. The ranch belongs to my sister-in-law's husband's family and we get to spend a week up there every summer. As usual, we had a wonderful time. It was unbelievably hot for two of the days (even reaching a scorching 111), but thankfully it cooled down to the low 90's for the last two days! It was a great time with the Buck family. We look forward to going back again next summer!

Cousins Parker and Leah: partners in crime!

Ty got to see horses for the first time

Riding the four wheelers was a lot of fun for everyone!

Leah was on the move!

I think Leah's favorite thing about the ranch was the mule. We went on multiple rides everyday!

Ty man didn't get to spend too much time outside because of the heat, but when he did go out he enjoyed relaxing with whoever would hold him!

We swam a lot to try and keep cool. Leah LOVES the water! We had to keep a close eye on her because she would just jump in by herself. She starts swim lessons next week and we know she is going to love them!

Pink is the new blue!

When you have a big sister, you can count on having at least one pink toy to play with! I always tell my kindergarten students that pink is a color for everyone, and here is our sweet Ty man showing off his pink Bumbo and jumper (he sleeps in a pink swaddle blanket too, but no picture of that!). Don't worry, he has plenty of gender neutral and boy items too!

First time in the Bumbo: June 8th

First time in the jumper: June 29th

So You Think You Can Dance: Toddler Edition

Leah has been a dancing machine lately! I had recorded So You Think You Can Dance and turned it on after dinner this evening. Without any prompting, Leah got off the couch and started dancing away! I grabbed the camera as quickly as I could so that I could catch her precious moves. This little girl continues to bring joy to our hearts with her sweet spirit and beautiful personality. (Please forgive how shaky the camera is, I was feeding Ty a bottle at the same time)

Three Months

Our sweet Ty Allen turned three months this past Thursday! I cannot picture our life without him! He is such a precious blessing and a beautiful addition to our family. His personality is starting to shine through more each day. We love this boy more than words can say!

At three months Ty is:

-sleeping through the night!!!!

-eating 6 oz. every 2 1/2 to 3 hours

-wearing mostly 6 month clothes

-smiles huge gummy smiles when we talk to him

-sucking on his hands a lot

-working really hard on his head control

-making us fall more and more in love with him!
