California Trip

A week ago, Ryan and I got to go on a trip of a lifetime to California with Highland Homes. It was an incredible, all expense paid trip that completely spoiled us! This trip could not have come at a better time and we were so grateful to Highland Homes and Ryan's real estate partner, Wade, for letting us come!

We left Monday morning and headed to Orange County

We made it to California and then headed to our resort in Newport Beach, Pelican Hill, with the other realtors and Highland reps. When we arrived, we could not get over the beautiful views!

When we walked in to our bungalow, we were floored with how nice it was. This was by far the most beautiful place we have ever stayed!

We got ready for our first dinner party and then headed back to the resort lawn. There were performers and servers walking around while we waited for dinner.

Jesika and I were having the best time together

It felt like we were in a movie!

We called it a night right after dinner and headed back to our room. When we walked in, we found the cutest note and dessert from the Highland president.

On Tuesday, we headed out for a day of golf at the resort. I had never golfed before, but I really enjoyed it!

Ryan showed us all what a great golfer looks like!

I enjoyed looking at the multi-million dollar houses that were on the course. I really wanted to hop the fence and look inside, but opted to stay in the cart and just gawk instead!

The ocean views from the course were gorgeous.

Tuesday night was a dinner party by the pool, complete with mermaids! We took a picture with this mermaid to send to the kids and then she asked if we wanted her to record a message for the kids too. Of course we said yes! Major "cool parent points" were earned on that one!

Wednesday we headed out to Laguna Beach to shop and eat. Of course, we had to take a little walk on the beach first!

We ate lunch at this cute ocean side restaurant, Las Brisas.

After Laguna, we headed to Balboa Beach. We went to the Wedge and watched guys body surf the big waves.

Wade, Jesika, Ryan, and I rode this bike buggy around the island. It was pretty comical!

When we got back to the resort, we realized that we had left our keys in the room. Thankfully, the concierge sent someone to let us in!

Our last dinner was Wednesday night and it was the most incredible! We took charter busses to the Mission of San Juan Capistrano about 30 minutes away. There was a large courtyard in the middle of the mission and all of the tables and a huge stage were set up there.

The musicians were fantastic! Later, we found out that they were performers from Disney!

On Thursday morning, it was time to head home! We had to take one last picture to remember Pelican Hill Resort by.

Because of a plane cancellation, we ended up getting home around 11:30 at night instead of 5:30. We missed the kids so much that we decided to wake them up and bring them to bed with us. You can tell from those big smiles that they were pretty happy to have mommy and daddy home!

I cannot say enough good things about this trip! The resort, the new friends, the food, the weather, it was all amazing! I am so grateful for the time Ryan and I got to spend together making precious memories!
