Halloween 2014

This was our first Halloween in our new city/neighborhood, so we were really looking forward to a great night! Because opening day of deer season is tomorrow, Ryan was headed to the deer lease, leaving the kids and I to fend for ourselves!

First up, Scare on the Square! Downtown McKinney always has the most fun, creative events for the city to take part in. They closed off the streets and children were able to walk store to store trick-or-treating. It was WAY more crowded than I thought it would be, but we still had a great time. We grabbed a quick dinner at Spoons, then headed home to walk around the neighborhood.

I'm pretty sure I was the one that was most excited to walk around our neighborhood. More and more houses are getting finished and people are moving in, so there are a lot of new faces that we haven't met yet. I have to say, we have awesome neighbors! They were all so sweet and kind to my babies. They also loaded them down with the best candies, glow sticks, and spider rings. The best part of our walk was trick-or-treating at a house of an older middle eastern man. He was just beside himself about celebrating Halloween here. He even asked to take a picture of us to send to his family back home. It was so cute and funny!

We finally made it around the block and back to the house. The kids really wanted to pass out candy to other kids, but since our neighborhood is so new, there where very few kids walking around. We waited and waited, but no one ever came by. So now I have LOTS of candy just sitting in the house. The teachers at school or the guys at Ryan's fire station are going to be very happy on Monday :)

We ended the night with Halloween movies on Netflix and snuggling on the couch. The perfect end to a fantastic night!
