We headed out Friday morning. The kids were ready to get the show on the road!
We stopped in Monroe, Louisiana to visit the Duck Commander store. It was fun getting to see the warehouse that is on the show and of course we picked up a couple of shirts to commemorate the occasion!
We spent the night in Mobile, Alabama and then headed out bright and early for Florida.
We arrived at our condo and this was the first thing we saw! I think we can get used to this!!
View from our room
These kiddos were in their happy place!
My favorite travel partner
Leah was entertaining us with her cheerleading skills
And Ty was flashing his muscles!
Our first dinner out was at the Back Porch. It was delicious and had a fantastic view!
We went hunting for crabs after dinner
The beach was absolutely beautiful and so was the company!
Ryan and I could not get over how clear the water was. We are used to the dark Galveston water, so the clear water was a nice change!!
I love being their momma!
We had ice cream at a local spot one evening. Right after I took this picture, Leah's ice cream fell off the cone on to the floor!
Another beautiful day on the beach!
We spent most of our time on the beach each day. We brought a load down every morning and made ourselves at home!
We spent a couple of evenings at HarborWalk Village. It was right on the water and had a lot of restaurants and activities for the kids. Leah and Ty have always wanted to play in these blow up balls, so they were ecstatic when they got their chance!
It was neat to walk by all of the fishing boats. Some of them had just gotten back with their catches and we got to watch them hang up and clean the fish.
One afternoon we took a dolphin watching and shelling cruise.
We spotted a few dolphins as we cruised around the ocean.
Then they docked by this little island and we got out and searched for shells. There were tons of hermit crabs too, which was really fun to see!
I feel like this should be on a Sprite commercial!
We made it back down to the HarborWalk Village and Leah wanted to jump on the trampoline. Ty was in line too, but when it was his turn he just couldn't do it!
Cuties with their faces painted
It was raining on the next to last day, so we visited the local aquarium. The big hit was the dolphin show. They had a one month old baby dolphin too, so that was neat to see!
The next morning, I woke up sick, so we decided to head home a day early. It ended up being a really good decision because I went to the doctor when we got home and I tested positive for strep. Not the way I had planned on ending our trip, but at least it didn't happen at the beginning!
We drove straight through this time, so this picture of Ty pretty much sums up how we all were feeling!!
This was such an incredible vacation! We have already decided to make it an annual thing. Ryan and I absolutely love traveling with the kids. The memories that we made far outweigh any of the craziness of traveling with two young kids. We hope Leah and Ty look back on this vacation with as much happiness as we do. Until next year Destin...
